Hen & Hoof Homestead:
” Authentic farm experiences shared with humor by two sincere first generation farmers..”
About Hen and Hoof Homestead
Welcome to our newly opened homestead in the heart of Eastern North Carolina, where we pair high-quality agricultural stewardship with equestrian training and family-friendly farm fun. We are proud to raise registered Dorper breeding stock, known for their resilience and superior meat quality, while offering our community farm-fresh lamb, chicken, and eggs. Our unique property also serves as a destination for horse back riders, featuring professional horseback riding lessons by a USDF Bronze Medalist dedicated to developing balanced, and confident equestrians. Whether you are looking to stock your freezer, learn how to ride, or simply unwind with our baby goat and sheep cuddle sessions, our homestead offers an authentic slice of Carolina farm life for everyone.
Our Commitment to Eastern NC
Looking ahead, our goal and mission is to expand these offerings through a sustainable herd share program, providing our community with direct access to premium, farm-fresh nutrition. Our future goals include launching a goat milk herd share featuring creamy, high-butterfat milk from our Mini Nubian goats, alongside a meat herd share of organic, pasture-raised lamb, pig, chicken, and eggs.
We are dedicated to transparent, regenerative farming practices that prioritize animal welfare and soil health, ensuring every share reflects the highest standards of quality. If you are interested in securing a future share, learning more about our growth, or partnering with us to supply your restaurant with exceptional local ingredients, please reach out—we would love to grow together.
Customer Testimonials and Reviews
★★★★★
We had the BEST time at Hen and Hoof Homestead! If you’re looking for something wholesome, hands-on, and memorable for kids, this place is truly special.
The kids absolutely loved getting to feed and interact with all the animals — especially the sheep and goats — and Kevin the llama was definitely a highlight of the day! You can tell the animals are well cared for and that the whole experience is thoughtfully set up for families. – Brandolyn Hanston 3/30/2026
